The CHANGES Parent Support Network, located in the state of Washington, was founded in 1996 as a spin-off from another parenting group. We provide support, education, and service to parents struggling with teens and adolescents who are engaging in self-destructive or acting-out behaviors such as truancy and failing grades, defiant, rebellious or out-of-control behavior, running away, drug and alcohol abuse, illegal activities, aggressive and/or addictive behaviors and attempted suicide.

ChangeInsight ("Changes") is a self-help, common sense and structured group program of active, constructive behavior change and emotional growth for parents and families. Using peer support, it helps you regain control of your home and teach your children to accept responsibility for their out-of-control behavior. Parent groups meet weekly, are entirely confidential, and funded by voluntary donations. The group provides strength through the combined experiences and wisdom of parents sharing common problems and solutions that have worked for others.

If you are feeling helpless and frustrated, angry or isolated because of your child's acting-out behavior, join a support group and start making a change in your life and your child's life.

More stories from parents. "We never planned to live our lives this way. And no one else understands how we ever got to this point. We don't even understand it. We just know we're there. And it's finally time to make a change--for everyone's benefit."
